Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre is a small aviation museum and memorial site just south-east of Lincoln, celebrating the history of RAF Metheringham and the crews who served during the Second World War. Dogs are welcome on site and inside the museum rooms, including access to the restored Dakota aircraft, so you can explore the indoor exhibits together without juggling leads and car keys in the car park. Admission is by pre-booked ticket only and the site is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00, running seasonally from the late March to late October.

The museum is closed on Bank Holidays. There's ample on-site parking, including disabled spaces, which makes the arrival logistics straightforward.

Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times throughout the museum and memorial garden. It's a quiet, reflective visit rather than a high-energy day out, so best suited to dogs who can settle and pad around calmly beside you while you take in the displays and history.
