A big-views South Downs outing that feels like you have stepped into a postcard then realised you can walk straight into it. Devil’s Dyke is a National Trust spot just outside Brighton with wide open chalk downland and a dramatic dry valley view that does not need filters. It is perfect for walking and wandering and watching paragliders and kite flyers when conditions are right. The paths and open-access land make it easy to tailor the day from a short viewpoint stop to a longer hike. Bring sensible shoes and a bit of wind-respect and you have a brilliant half-day outdoors.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome on walks. Keep them on a lead around grazing livestock and keep them close on busier paths. Please take dog waste home.
