Natureland Seal Sanctuary in Skegness is one of the town's best-known attractions, mixing proper seal-rescue work with a full family day-out setup. Dogs are welcome on-lead in the outdoor areas and can join you for most of the visit, though they can't go into the gift shop, restaurant or the free-flight butterfly and bird areas. The sanctuary is known for rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned and injured seal pups along the Lincolnshire coast, and visitors can see that work up close during feeding times.

There's plenty more besides, including penguins, meerkats, reptiles, an aquarium and other animals, so it feels more substantial than a quick look round. It's a good option when you want something memorable, weather-proof enough and packed with enough variety to hold attention for more than five minutes.

Equal parts heartwarming and entertaining, with strong "we came for the seals and stayed for everything else" energy. Dogs can be part of most of that, as long as leads stay on and you're happy to work around the indoor animal areas where paws aren't allowed.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome on-lead throughout most of the sanctuary, but they can't go into the gift shop, restaurant or the Floral Palace where birds and butterflies fly free. Bring bags—emergency supplies are available at the entrance if a hopeful nose leads to an urgent moment.
