North Gateway Cafe is a dog-friendly café right on the A9 north of Inverness, where dogs are welcome inside the café alongside their people. It serves coffee, cakes and a full food menu throughout the day, with late Friday evening service until 8pm. The café also features a retail space for local makers and small businesses.

It's open Monday to Thursday and Saturday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm and until 8pm on Fridays. The location makes it a handy stop for A9 travellers and walkers heading to or from nearby Daviot Woods, so you can pair a forest walk with a proper sit-down coffee break.

Dogs can settle in at the table while you refuel and the relaxed atmosphere suits a post-walk visit. It's the sort of place that takes the stress out of stopping with a dog, knowing you can both head inside for a bite without fuss.
