North Sea Observatory

The North Sea Observatory at Chapel Point in Chapel St Leonards is the UK's only purpose-built marine observatory, where dogs are welcome on site and inside the Seascape Café. This striking coastal attraction includes exhibition spaces, an art gallery, a dog-friendly café, public toilets and a car park, making it a practical stop on a Lincolnshire coast trip with your dog.

The Seascape Café welcomes dogs inside for most of the day, though there are time restrictions during busy periods, so it's worth checking ahead if you're planning a specific visit. The café serves breakfasts until midday, light lunches and homemade cakes, all with floor-to-ceiling sea views whether you sit inside or out on the terrace. The observatory also houses exhibitions on the local coast's natural history and serves as a gateway to the Coastal Country Park and England Coast Path.

The North Sea Observatory is open all year round, with the café open every day. On-site parking is available (pay and display), which keeps arrival simple when you've got leads, bags and a dog ready to explore the beach and dunes. The building sits at Chapel Point on the northern edge of Chapel St Leonards, a few miles north of Skegness, with miles of sandy beach stretching in both directions.
