Parc Slip Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre is a large restored wildlife reserve near Porthcawl, with bird hides, accessible footpaths, a café and free on-site parking at the Visitor Centre.
Dogs are welcome across the reserve's outdoor areas and must be kept on a lead at all times, making it a practical choice for a nature walk with a well-behaved trail companion. The reserve offers open-access walking year-round, while the Visitor Centre and café are open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00. Lead-securement points are provided outside the centre, so you can pop in for refreshments without the under-table negotiation.
It's a proper day-out destination roughly 12 miles from Porthcawl, combining heritage interest, wildlife and clear paths for owners who want space, nature and a venue that actually expects dogs on leads rather than merely tolerating them.
