Pulborough Brooks is an RSPB nature reserve in the Arun Valley near Chichester, where dogs are welcome on a lead on parts of the Wooded Heathland Trail and on public footpaths and bridleways around the reserve. The wetland nature trail and hides are no-dog areas, so this is best for those happy to stick to the permitted routes and perhaps enjoy a sit-down on the tea terrace adjacent to the café while the dog supervises from under the table.

The reserve is open dawn to dusk, with the visitor centre, café, shop and toilets open daily from 10am to 4pm. On-site parking includes Blue Badge spaces outside the visitor centre, which takes the faff out of arrival when you're juggling leads and bags.

It's a proper day-out destination with trails, hides and wildlife watching, rather than just a walk and the clear dog-permitted and restricted areas mean you can plan your visit without second-guessing. Groups of eight or more should contact the reserve in advance.
