Radipole Lake Nature Reserve is one of those brilliant Weymouth spots where a town walk suddenly turns into reedbeds, boardwalk-style wandering, and proper birdwatching energy. Managed by the RSPB, the reserve is known for its wildlife-rich wetland setting, with flat signposted trails, viewpoints, and a Discovery Centre with café-style seating and big lake views.

It is a lovely pick for a slower leg-stretch when the dog needs fresh air but the humans also want something scenic, peaceful, and a bit more interesting than another lap of the pavement. Very good for holiday mornings with binocular ambitions and a dog who is happy to sniff politely.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome on short leads on the reserve’s designated dog-friendly trails only, and dogs are also welcome in the Discovery Centre on a short lead. This is a wildlife-first sort of place, so stick to the marked dog-friendly routes, keep lead manners tidy, and take dog waste home with you. In other words: excellent sniffing, yes. Freelance swan supervision, absolutely not.
