The Seven Stars Inn is one of Bristol's oldest and most characterful pubs, tucked down a cobbled street in Redcliffe and dating all the way back to the late 1500s. Often called the city's original "beer museum," it still carries that sense of history in every corner, from its worn features to the stories it quietly holds onto, standing firm while everything around it has changed. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
Inside, it's a wonderfully unpolished mix of shabby and chic, with over 30 cask ales on rotation alongside traditional West Country ciders and perries. It feels proudly independent, a place that leans into its past without feeling stuck in it, offering a warm, old-school welcome that's become rarer over time.
Dogs pad in alongside you, adding a bit of present-day life to a pub that's been doing this for centuries, making it a solid choice when you want proper ale, proper atmosphere and paws under the table.
