Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Solway Aviation Museum in Carlisle is a proper aviation history destination at Carlisle Airport, with outdoor aircraft displays and exhibits that dogs can enjoy alongside you on a lead. The museum buildings themselves are indoor-only for human visitors, but the outdoor areas give you plenty to explore together and make it a worthwhile stop if you're combining a day out near the city with a dog in tow.
The museum is open Friday to Sunday year-round, with extended Monday opening during the main season and occasional Sunday-only winter hours, so it's worth checking the schedule before you travel. Last entry is typically 4:15 pm, or 3:15 pm during the shorter November period.
There's an official on-site car park with disabled spaces and overflow parking for busier days, which takes the hassle out of arrival. Dogs must stay on a lead throughout the outdoor museum areas and while they can't join you inside the buildings, it's still a practical choice for aviation enthusiasts who'd rather bring the dog than leave them behind.
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome in the outdoor museum areas and around the external exhibits on a lead, but are not allowed inside the museum buildings.
