That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Spring Tide is a family-friendly pub on Kirkley Rise, close to Lowestoft’s seafront, where dogs are welcome throughout the whole pub. This is not limited to the bar or a small dog-friendly section, so dogs can stay with their owners while they stop for a drink or sit down for a meal.

There is a car park on site and the menu includes pub classics, pizzas, burgers, lighter bites and desserts. Its coastal location makes it a practical stop after a walk along the promenade or time exploring the southern end of Lowestoft.

The whole-pub dog policy also makes The Spring Tide useful when the weather turns and an indoor table is needed. Dogs can settle alongside their owners throughout the pub rather than being restricted to an outdoor area or designated seating section.

One small trapdoor: avoid implying that dogs can always walk on South Beach itself, because dogs are excluded from part of it between 1 May and 30 September, although the promenade remains popular with dog walkers.
