The BellyRub Bar and Eatery in Scarborough is a small, relaxed dog-friendly spot combining craft beer bar, eatery and bottle shop all in one. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while someone else enjoys the street-food-inspired menu and regularly changing beer list.
Every pup gets one of their homemade biscuits, and there's a small gluten-free dog menu featuring treats from Whitby's Fuzzy Dog Bakery. It's a thoughtful setup in a compact space, so dogs are kept on leads to help everyone, especially nervous dogs, feel comfortable and safe.
The whole place has strong "one drink and a quick bite" turning into a longer stay energy. It's an easy, sociable kind of place where good beer and good company tend to stretch the evening a little further than planned—and a lovely example of a place run by people who truly get dog life.
