That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Black Swan is a proper Horncastle pub for the dog owner who likes their day with a side of warm chatter and zero fuss. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while the humans refuel.
There's a traditional pub feel, with enough going on to keep it lively but not so much that it turns into sensory overload for a dog who's already read every scent headline in town. It works well as a post-walk stop when the lead is damp, the pockets are full of treats, and the owner is quietly proud nobody got muddy on purpose.
Expect cosy chaos in the best way: happy dogs, happy people, and a "just one more" vibe that makes it easy to settle in before heading back out feeling smugly functional.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Well behaved dogs on leads are always welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
