The Bridge Inn in Mangotsfield, just outside Bristol, is one of those slightly tucked-away pubs that locals quietly keep to themselves, known for its friendly feel, strong cider lineup and a beer garden that really earns its reputation. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while the rest of the group settles in.

There's a proper community feel running through it, with live music, quiz nights and regular events keeping things lively across the week. The large, secluded garden is a standout, giving you space to settle in the sun with a West Country cider in hand while everything slows down a bit.

It's perfectly placed as a start or finish point for country walks and bike rides, with that satisfying "we've earned this" pint waiting at the end. Dogs pad in alongside you and quickly become part of the relaxed, local rhythm.
