That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Chocolate Box in Whitby is a sweet little stop for anyone who likes their old-town wandering with a side of sugar, souvenirs, and "this is definitely coming home with us" optimism. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while someone browses.

It fits neatly into the cobbled-street rhythm of browsing, snacking, and picking up treats that feel a bit more special than the usual seaside grab-and-go. The feel is independent and giftable, making it a lovely place for a quick detour during a dog-friendly day in town.

A good one for adding a little extra indulgence to the Whitby circuit, especially when restraint has already left the building and paws are happy to wait by the door while humans make sugar-fuelled decisions.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Free treats available

Doggy menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside for a sweet-shop browse, which is ideal for picking up treats and gifts without splitting the pack. Best suited to calm dogs who can stay close in a smaller shop while the humans make sugar-fuelled decisions.
