That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Coach and Horses Inn is a classic Lincolnshire Wolds pub in Horncastle with proper countryside energy and the kind of welcome that suits dogs as much as humans. Overlooking the Bain Valley, it's a brilliant post-walk landing spot where the dog can decompress and the owner can finally stop doing mental arithmetic about mud levels. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
There's that comforting, traditional pub feel, plus the simple joy of a garden and games that make it easy to linger. It's especially good for weekend wandering, slow afternoons, or those "one drink turned into tea" situations that always happen when the dog is being charming.
Expect friendly faces, an easy pace, and cosy chaos in the form of a lead under the table, a happy sigh from the dog, and the owner realising they've fully relaxed.
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Well-behaved dogs on leads are always welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
