That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Tucked away on Bull Lane, The Drunken Duck is a small-but-mighty Gloucester pub with a proper independent feel. It is known for real ales, craft beers, ciders, regular events and a relaxed city-centre atmosphere, making it a great little stop for drinks, conversation, live music, or a no-fuss catch-up in the heart of Gloucester.
It has the feel of a pub that knows exactly what it is: easy-going, friendly, and full of character without trying too hard. There is a games-room energy too, with pool, darts and retro arcade machines mentioned on their social channels, so it is less “sit stiffly with a pint” and more “settle in and see where the evening goes.”
Dogs are warmly welcomed inside, with free treats and water available for four-legged visitors. It is the kind of place where the dog is not just tolerated in the corner, but genuinely part of the pub rhythm: sniffing the floor, collecting compliments, and quietly assuming this whole outing was arranged for them.
