The Knox is a dog-friendly pub on the edge of Harrogate where dogs are welcome inside the bar. Food is served on site and the relaxed atmosphere makes it an easy stop for a post-walk pint with your four-legged companion settled at your feet. There's free on-site parking, so you can arrive without the usual roadside shuffle.

The pub is a handy base for exploring Nidd Gorge and Ripley-side walks, giving you somewhere to regroup after muddy trails and long sniff-heavy loops. Dogs are treated as part of the group here, with water and treats available to help yourself. The Knox opens Tuesday to Thursday from 4pm, Friday and Saturday from midday and Sunday from midday to 10:30pm.

It's closed on Mondays. Food service is more limited—currently Tuesday evenings only—so check ahead if you're planning to eat.
