Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Indoor Welcome Last Verified:

The Lakes Distillery sits just north-west of Keswick in the Bassenthwaite area, a working distillery with bookable tours, tastings, a shop and bistro. Dogs on leads are welcome in the courtyard, garden and shop, which means the group can stay together for browsing rather than splitting up outside the ticket office. Most dogs can't join the distillery tour itself—only guide dogs are allowed on the production route—but knowing exactly where four paws are welcome makes planning easier.
The on-site shop stocks spirits, gifts and distillery merchandise while the courtyard and garden offer a calm space for a lead-and-bag breather between browsing. Tours and tables are best booked ahead, especially in season, so you can plan around the dog's routine without guessing availability.
Parking is available on-site and the distillery is signposted from the A66 and B5291. It's not a full paws-included day because pet dogs can't tour the production areas, but it's a useful half-day stop in the northern Lakes when you want a proper visitor attraction that's honest about dog access from the start.
