The Royal Oak is a village pub in Malborough, just inland from Salcombe, where dogs are welcome inside. You'll find a proper bar serving drinks and food, open fires and a cheerful dog-friendly atmosphere that lets the whole group settle in together.

Food is served Tuesday to Saturday evenings and on Sunday from 1pm, so you can plan a meal without leaving anyone outside. The menu covers pub classics and bar snacks and the kitchen knows how to feed a hungry walking party.

The pub is open from 4:30pm Tuesday to Sunday and stays open until midnight, making it a useful evening stop after a day on the coast or the South West Coast Path. Malborough sits between Salcombe and Hope Cove, so it's a handy inland base when you're exploring this corner of the South Hams.
