The Unruly Pig is a food-led gastropub just outside Aldeburgh, where dogs are welcome inside in the bar and rear room. It's a polished yet easy-going kind of place, with serious cooking and a refreshingly clear policy that keeps the whole group together.

The menu changes with the seasons and there's a proper bar alongside the dining space, so you can settle in for a pint or a full meal without needing to rearrange your day around the dog. Food is served throughout opening hours, with lunchtimes and evening service every day of the week.

It's a useful stop if you're combining a coastal walk with something more substantial than a sandwich on a bench. The pub sits in the Suffolk countryside between Orford and Aldeburgh, close enough to the shore to make it a natural pairing with a morning on the beach and an afternoon indoors where nobody gets left outside.
