That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Volunteer Inn in Hereford is a warm, community-led pub where dogs are welcome inside, so everyone can settle in together for food, drinks and easy evenings. The large beer garden offers sunshine space when the weather plays along, but the indoor welcome means no pavement-waiting shuffle on rainy days.
The menu runs from burgers and steaks to traditional pub classics and Sunday roasts, with a bar stocked with cask ale, lager, cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Weekly events include a pub quiz every other Tuesday and open mic night every Thursday, so there's usually something happening beyond the usual pint-and-chat rhythm.
It's the kind of pub where dogs can flop under the table while humans work through the menu, and nobody minds a lead trailing across the floor or a hopeful nose appearing at knee height when the food arrives.
