That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Wagon & Horses sits down on St George’s Quay by the River Lune, so it’s perfectly placed for a riverside stroll that doubles as a dog’s personal news bulletin. Inside, it’s a smart, welcoming pub with a good bar and a food menu that leans British with a little Italian flair, ideal when you want something more exciting than “chips again”.
Dogs are welcome downstairs, so you can settle in without splitting the group into “eaters” and “dog sitters”. If you’re making a night of it, there are rooms too, with breakfast included for the morning-after wobble back into the world. It’s close enough to the city centre for an easy wander, but far enough to feel like you’ve found a little waterfront hideaway. Bring the dog. Bring an appetite.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Well behaved dogs on leads are always welcome inside,
