Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Arnos Vale is a substantial Victorian garden cemetery and heritage site in Bristol, where dogs are welcome to explore the grounds on leads. Spread across open cemetery paths and trails, it's a fascinating all-weather day out near the city centre, complete with tours, exhibitions, a café and shop. Your dog can join you for a wander through the historic landscape, though they're not allowed in the Gardens of Rest or buildings unless staff permission is granted.
The site's vehicle gates on Bath Road open from 9am to 5pm, with pedestrian access available outside those hours. It's a proper heritage attraction rather than just a cemetery walk, so there's plenty to see without rushing your dog past every monument. Dogs must stay on leads throughout, stick to paths and be cleaned up after.
Assistance dogs are exempt from the building restriction. If you're after a calm, culture-rich outing that keeps you and your lead-clipped companion together outdoors, Arnos Vale delivers history, greenery and space to sniff at a respectful pace.
