You’ll spot our Recommended Partner badge on some listings (opposite the venue name)

That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

A Shrewsbury spot that built its name around craft beer and fried chicken, with a casual independent feel and a dog-friendly welcome. It looked like the kind of place that suited laid-back food, bold flavours and an easy social stop near the station. However, I should flag that recent local reporting says Bird & Beer closed in January 2026, so this one may no longer be trading. If you are keeping it in the CMS for now, I would treat it as a former listing until confirmed otherwise. While it was open, it sounded ideal for a relaxed meal with proper comfort-food energy rather than anything formal. A good example of the sort of fun, low-fuss venue people love finding, even if this particular nest appears to have flown.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs were welcome inside, making it the sort of laid-back place that suited casual food, drinks and dogs joining in properly. Expect comfort-food energy, relaxed vibes and a dog happily stationing themselves where the fried-chicken luck might happen.
