That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

George and Dragon is a classic riverside pub in Lancaster where dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle after a quayside walk. Set by the water on Lancaster's historic quay, it has that comforting, no-fuss feel where you can slide into a seat, order a drink, and watch the world drift past at a gentler speed.

Expect good beer, simple pub energy, and plenty of people-watching for both you and your four-legged companion. It's a lovely pick on crisp days when you want somewhere warm and chatty, and it also works brilliantly in summer when you're chasing fresh air and an easygoing vibe.

If your dog is social, there's a decent chance of friendly hellos. If your dog is not social, there are also quieter corners for a calm settle while you refuel after your loop.
