Days Out Are For Dogs Too

The Craster Arms is a brilliant “boots off, shoulders down” pub stop in Beadnell, especially after a long stretch of coast path with a dog who believes every new smell is an urgent appointment. It’s got real character, the kind you feel as soon as you step in, and it suits that post-walk moment when everyone’s a bit windswept and quietly delighted to be somewhere warm.
This is a great place to build into a Beadnell day out. Beach first, dunes second, then here when you’re ready to refuel and let the dog-life pace slow down a notch. You can do it as a quick drink stop, but it also works as a proper sit-down meal plan, especially when you’ve clocked up the miles and the dog has finally stopped trying to greet every passing seabird.
It’s comforting rather than flashy. The atmosphere feels steady and welcoming, which is exactly what you want when your day’s been dictated by tides, wind, and the dog’s strong opinions about which direction to go next. If you like a pub that feels like part of the coastal routine, this one fits in beautifully.
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome, with venue rules set by North Coast Collective. Dogs must be kept with you and on a lead at all times. Please keep dogs off furniture/soft furnishings, don’t block walkways, and prevent jumping up.
